Born in 1964 in the Ivory
Coast, Freddy developed his interest in music while growing up listening to
famous local musicians in the inner city of Abidjan.
In the early 70's he started playing an accoustic
guitar his late mother bought for him, and by 1978, Freddy had already won
a local music contest, The Piedestal, as the best young bass player in
Abidjan. Later the same year his band "The King" participated at the
national music contest the Podium where Freddy was once again recognized as
one of the best bass player in the city of Abidjan.
Winning these contest exposed Freddy to local and
international Artists such as Ismael Isaac,
Pablo Uwa, and the one and only Alpha Blondy,
just to name a few.
Freddy moved to the United States, where today he is
recognized as one of the best bass players in the African and Reggae music
market. In 1999, he formed the Ivory Sensations to back up local and
international artist and performed at many festivals such as "The Celebrate
Brooklyn festival", The Summer Stage at Central Park in New York City,
The Black Art Festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Ga, and the
Reggae on the
River Festival at the french camp in California with
Ismael Isaac in 2000.
Presently FREDDY and the IVORY SENSATIONS is based in
Colorado playing at local venues
and in the studio working on their first album REDEMTION, with a release
date in late 2005.
