Labeled in 2001 by the Jamaican Observer as an artist who “made a difference,” today, Warrior King carries this anointment further in his latest release, “Hold The Faith,” off the VP Records Label.  Filled with tunes of love and life, uplifting and inspiring, “Hold the Faith” is a refreshing extension of Warrior Kings dedication to the roots based religion Rastafari, as well as a masterfully produced album in today's modern roots tradition.

Warrior King burst onto the scene a couple of years ago with Virutous Woman, and with a voice smooth and silky, has become more polished in "Hold The Faith" and a message of unity and love in an album of smooth, reggae flowing dedication for all that life has to offer.

As any album that follows up a wildly successful and acclaimed debut album such as "Virtuous Woman", the expectations and judgements are sure to be high.   "Hold The Faith" comes far from exceeding those expectations, but in itself, is a solid CD in the modern roots tradition which holds its own.

“I don’t believe in rushing music”  he commented in a recent interview with ReggaeMovement,  “Hold the Faith took a long time to make, I can not say how long, but I like to take my time and do it properly, not rush music.”

This patience paid great dividend with a music of spirituality and of consciousness that will set Warrior King well on the way of being an impact on the genre of reggae in the next few years.

An uplifting message of love and life, in “Hold The Faith” Warrior King utilizes his sweet smooth delivery to disseminate a conscious message of learning and dedication to the Most High.

In Education, Warrior King gives a refreshing ode to children to learn the golden rule.   “Learning is better than silver and gold.  Silver and gold will vanish away, but a good education will always stay.”  This message against materialism is laden throughout the album, and indeed he purports that “True happiness comes within the spirit and within the self, not from material things…. For ya know, if you have life, you can achieve whatever you want with hard work.”  (see interview)

Hold The Faith is a refreshing album of conscious and good vibes, uplifting and positive, and with some of the better sounds in today’s reggae music.  Warrior King really hit the anile on the head in regards to impacting roots, and he is building a foundation today for what will surely be a reflection upon his body of work years from now.
