Music Video Distributors, MVD, offers an in depth video look into a show from Gregory Isaac’s “Here by Appointment” tour in 2003.  Filmed at North London’s Rocket venue, Gregory performs his top hits on stage, including Number One, Night Nurse, Mr. Brown, and more.

Gregory pours his heart to the crowd, and the disc is, if nothing else,  a picturesque representation of the experience in seeing The Cool Ruler perform live.

While the production values are decent, the selection of venue for the filming leaves one wondering what has happened to the Cool Ruler.  The acoustics are a bit lacking on the DVD, and it’s hard to keep one’s attention as the vocals and the music are on different levels.  Mr. Isaacs vocals have slipped over the years, and a more nasal approach is clearly heard and is only inflamed by the separation of music and vocals on the DVD track.

Extras features offer additional interviews, glossary, and more, which offers hope of value in this DVD for one of reggae’s true legends, The Cool Ruler.
