Legendary
reggae band Third World, long considered the darlings of Jamaica,
descended upon the Bluebird Stage last Wednesday Night.
A passionate, crowd anxiously
anticipated their set, and Third World did not disappoint after they
took the stage.
Going through some of their legendary
hits including 96 Degrees and Try Jah Love, as well as featuring some
nice tunes off their new album, Ain't Givin' Up, including the title
track and Natural Mystic, a play off Bob Marley's song by the same name.
One
of the better tunes performed that night, and one that got the crowd
more excited than others, was Reggae Party. High beat and High
energy got the crowd dancing, and the smiles were felt all over the
place.
Throughout the night, Third World
demonstrated their talents at crowd interaction, as they had the crowd
in the palm of their hands with great call and response, as well as
other tactics.
The
Lion SoulJah did a great job warming up the crowd nicely for Third
World. The inclusion of a 7 year old kid as their drummer, if not
a bit long, was a nice touch and really got the crowd fired up and ready
to go.
