On behalf Cervante's Masterpiece Ballroom, I would like to extend a gratitude of thanks for the great fun that was

celebrating the 4 year anniversary of The Reggae Movement.  Steel Pulse put on an amazing show, and Cervante's Masterpiece Ballroom once again proved to be a great venue and a great host for Reggae Music in Denver.

A great turnout provided a positive feeling all night, and I'd like to thank everyone for supporting The Reggae Movement over the past 4 years.  Thanks to Steel Pulse, Uplifter, Spellbinder, Irie Still, KGNU 88.5 and 1390 Denver and each and every fan who showed up to enjoy the show.

Feel Free to Email me and let me know what you thought. I look forward to celebrating 5 years in Denver next year with each and everyone, and don't forget about ReggaeMovement.com's 2nd Annual Bob Marley Birthday Celebration next February, as well as the local spot  Kazmo's every Saturday night, hosted by Spellbinder.

Due to complications beyond our control, it was an unfortunate event that Irie Still was unable to join the stage as I had originally planned.   I would like to extend an apology to all fans of Irie Still, including myself, who was looking forward to seeing them perform.

The near-capacity concert on July 25 at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom featured none of the theatrical costuming that characterized live Steel Pulse in the 1970s and '80s.

But that didn't keep one of reggae's most successful and recognizable acts from serving up a medley of crowd-pleasing classics including "Worth His Weight in Gold (Rally Round)" and "Roller Skates," along with poignant, timely songs like "No More Weapons" from last year's Grammy-nominated CD "African Holocaust."

The devotees who turned out for this show sang out loud during complete stanzas, one of many indications that although the band is grayer and their 'locks nattier than at the dawn of their career, Steel Pulse's protest reggae is as relevant and popular as ever.
