The Soul Rebel
Festival is an annual grass roots Reggae
Afro Pop music festival held in Boulder,
Colorado. The Soul Rebel Festival is the
manifestation of the creative visionary
ideals of Ujama News (www.ujamanews.com),
an innovative and culturally strong magazine
that informs, entertains and educates. Ujama
presents thought provoking, comprehensive
information based on the unique Afro Centric
heritage, revealed through the arts, dance,
literary works, music, natural living and
sports.
The festival
is held both in the Summer and Winter/Spring
benefiting the Black Biomedical Research
Movement (www.bbrm.org)
and a tribute to Wachen Vieira (www.wachen.net),
an African Immigrant who was murdered in
Boulder, Colorado on July 26, 2002.
