The classic underdog story, Rockers surrounds a simple concept of a man and his motorcycle.  Horsemouth, a prospective local entrepreneur in the shanties of Jamaica, raises enough money to buy himself a motorcycle, which starts the story of challenges, including rough encounters, corruption, greed, and other plights on the Jamaican lifestyle.

The movie is filled with star studded cameos -- Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, and Sly Dunbar to name a few.  Adding to the charm, all the main rolse are played by musicians. The soundtrack to this movie is far and away the real value, as the music in Rockers is some of the best music you’ll hear on any movie, period.

Rockers is an entertaining romp across the countryside of Jamaica, and does a great job in featuring the music industry, from the horn section practicing in the shanty to shots of producing records in Joe Gibb’s studio.  Great visual shots, interesting insight to some of the island’s idiosyncrasies, and the aforementioned soundtrack balances a low budget and extremely simplistic screenplay.
